Healthy eggs begin with healthy, pastured hens. That is our goal with our egg share. The chicken flock greets the new day always excited for another excursion in the great outdoors. They stream from the henhouse as soon as the door opens and run as fast as their little legs can carry them to their favorite spot. They spend the day scratching the ground, looking for grubs and bugs, chasing grasshoppers through the grass, and dusting themselves in the dirt. The hens have daily access to roam the fresh grass around their portable house. These hens are fed a 100% GMO-free diet. The fresh grass, exercise, and sunshine makes for happy hens.
You can order eggs for any of our three seasons: Early Start (April), Spring/Summer, and Fall. Check our current calendar for exact delivery dates for each season.
A share consists of one dozen grass-fed eggs every week. You will find your eggs in an ice chest at your dropsite.
The exact price varies based on the number of deliveries in a given season. Please see our Prices page for details.
There is nothing like fresh fruit in-season! The flavor, nutrients, and bright colors are at their peak. That is our goal with the fruit share we offer. For the most part, we select our fruit from neighboring ochards and farms, so you can be confident you are supporting local family businesses. Our fruit share contains 1-2 fruit items of in-season fruit each week. (The fruit share is also available on a bi-weekly basis.) The fruit share contains fruit that is not certified organic. Rather, it is reduced-spray using the enviromentally-sensetive IPM standard.
Fruit shares begin in May with the start of our Spring/Summer season and continues for 18 weeks. The Fall fruit season begins in September and continues for 16 weeks. Please check our current calendar for the exact season start and end dates.
In our Spring/Summer fruit share, we will typically send two (occasionally one) fruit items each week. The spring season will start with apples and then move into fresh strawberries, cherries, blueberries, and raspberries. In the summer, expect to find peaches, nectarines, and plums.
For those who want to sample more of autumn's bounty, we offer a 16-week Fall Fruit share. During these weeks, you will be able to enjoy a final taste of peaches, a few raspberries, many different types of apples, and several varieties of pears. Some of the apple varieties you will find in these later weeks are Fuji, Granny Smith, Mutsu, Empire, Honey Crisp, Pink Lady, and Autumn Crisp. Each variety has its own flavors and texture. There will be approximately two quarts (about four pounds) in each week's box.
If you are picking up your share from a dropsite, you will find your fruit share in one of our Crawford Organics wooden fruit crates. Please be sure to return your fruit crate each week to ensure we have enough crates for each delivery. Thank you!
We are a certified organic vegetable farm. We do not raise tree-fruit. Instead, our fruit share is sourced from local orchards in Lancaster, Chester, and Berks counties. If the orchards we usually work with do not have a certain fruit available, we may source the fruit from other Pennsylvania orchards. The only exception to this is our blueberries, which usually come from New Jersey.
All of the fruit is low-spray or IPM (Integrated Pest Management). The IPM method relies on scouting, mating disruptions, and good sanitation.
All of this extra effort has proved successful in reducing the total spray usage by 30-50% (sometimes more). We are glad to be able to bring these fresh, local fruits to you each week.

Gobbler's Ridge Farm is a 22-acre farm nestled in the hills of southern Lancaster County. Here the wild turkeys gobble in the morning and the deer graze in in the twilight. It is also the place to get good healthy meat and eggs.
Henry & Katie Esch and their growing family have a lovely and lively farm. They raise pork, lamb, chicken, duck, geese, and turkeys on grass with a supplement of GMO-free grains. Their animals are rotated on a regular basis to give them a fresh salad of grasses, herbs, and forbs. They partner with local farmers to raise the grains to ensure their integrity. They use no chemicals on their farm, and no antibiotics, hormones, or chemical dewormers on their animals. They strive to produce clean, healthy, nutritious food, while making the world a happier, cleaner, brighter place.
The meat share is a six-week season that starts on any date of your choosing. You may select as many or few start dates per year to enjoy the amount of meat you desire.
Each week there will be a chicken item and a pork item. Frequently, there will be a beef item or a turkey item. Occasionally there may be a lamb item. Each week will contain one or two ground items (like sausage or ground beef) and one or two cut items (chicken breasts, drumsticks, beef or pork cuts [roasts or steaks]). You may chose from two sizes: the Small Meat Share and the Large Meat Share. The Small Meat Share will have 3-4 packages of meat. The Large Meat Share may will contain 4-6 packages with some being larger portions of meat (such as whole chicken or roasts).

We offer plain yogurt from Seven Stars Farm in Kimberton, PA. This yogurt is famous for the rich cream layer on top of the yogurt. Their yogurt is made from certified organic whole milk without sweeteners, flavorings, or thickeners. It is a very good, creamy textured yogurts with a mild flavor. If you enjoy your yogurt sweet, you can add your own choice of healthy sweetener or fruit. The cows that produce the milk for the yogurt are kept on pasture whenever the weather is suitable. When the weather isn't suitable, the cows are fed quality hay and a small amount of grain and minerals. The grain makes up approximately 1% of their total dietary intake.
Yogurt shares can be purchased for any of our three seasons: Early Start, Spring/Summer, and Fall. Please see our current calendar for exact start and end dates.
